Fair: Case bears numerous scratches and abrasions throughout. The lugs may exhibit moderate to significant polishing and softening of edges throughout the case. The dial and hands may have noticeable blotches or blemishes unless otherwise specified. Lume may exhibit degradation, damage, flaking, or significant discoloration, which may be unattractive in some circumstances.

Case: The lugs are thick, and the case geometry remains robust, though there is some softening at the lug chamfers and on the case back. The case exhibits many minor dings and blemishes that you'd expect from normal wear over 35 years, but has no discernible deep gouges that are unattractive. The genuine bezel is in good condition and still possesses sharp edges.

Dial, Hands, & Crystal: The dial shows signs of tropicalization, appearing more honey-colored in some lights and angles. Both the dial and the hands have matching cream-colored tritium. The hands exhibit no discoloration or degradation. The crystal has small chips at 12 and 6 that are visible under magnification but do not affect its integrity.

Bracelet/Strap: The condition of the Rolex 8385 18k yellow gold bracelet is consistent with the rest of the case. Scuffs and light scratches are present throughout. The hallmarks of the buckle retain their detail and structure. There is a good amount of bracelet sag that is still better than most 18238's of the same era. The bracelet has 22 original links.
