The Rolex GMT-Master II 126711CHNR—more commonly known as the “Root Beer”—blends modern sportiness with a touch of vintage luxury. The “CHNR” in its reference stands for Chocolat/Noir (French for chocolate/black), referencing the distinctive two-tone Cerachrom ceramic bezel that pairs rich brown with sleek black.
Released in 2018, the watch is crafted in “Rolesor,” Rolex’s signature mix of Oystersteel (stainless steel) and 18k Everose gold. Everose gold, Rolex’s proprietary rose gold alloy, provides a warm, sophisticated flair to the bezel edge, winding crown, and the center links of the Oyster bracelet. The combination of the black dial, bold Chromalight lume, and gold accents on the hands and hour markers creates a look that is subtle yet unmistakably luxurious.
Beneath the surface, the 40mm case houses the automatic Caliber 3285, an in-house movement offering a robust 70-hour power reserve, excellent accuracy, and a host of patented Rolex tech for durability and reliability. As with all GMT-Masters, it features the signature fourth GMT hand and bi-directional rotatable bezel—enabling simultaneous tracking of two time zones.
