Model overview
The Rolex Day-Date is among the most influential and classic watches of all time, and if you have kept up with popular culture since 1956, it's not a claim that needs justification. If you haven't lived under a rock for the last 60 years, chances are you have heard the terms "Day-Date" or "President."
The Day-Date found its footing sometime in the 1960s. During this period, the watch developed its reputation as the timekeeper of choice for world leaders and the Wall Street elite. John F. Kennedy was famously gifted a Rolex Day-Date from Marilyn Monroe, though he never wore it publicly. The title of the first President to sport the Day-Date on the "president" bracelet goes to Lyndon B. Johnson. With him, the nickname "Rolex President" cemented itself in history.
