The Pearlmaster is one of the relatively recent additions to the Rolex catalog, first appearing in 1992, the same year as the original Yacht-Master. The Pearlmaster is essentially a luxurious upmarket Submariner with all the finishings you would expect from the brand's more expensive Day-Date models. Strip away the Pearlmaster's regal finishings, and what's left is one of the longest-running and most treasured Rolex creations, the Rolex Datejust.
While the Datejust does enjoy some higher-end furnishings like diamonds and the use of precious metals, although sparingly, the Pearlmaster has been elevated far past anything that resembles a Datejust, the Pearlmaster, sometimes referred to as the "Masterpiece," is further separated from Datejust by being produced exclusively in precious metals and further decorated with lavish stones from rubies to diamonds and emeralds.
Available exclusively for the Pearlmaster, the distinctive bracelet is constructed of five rounded links, sometimes with diamonds set through the center links, and secured with a fold-over crown lock clasp.
The Pearlmaster is Rolex at its most expressive and opulent; the family represents some of the most expensive pieces on the roster. They are the height of watchmakers' and gem-setters' art.
