Explorer 36 Ref. 114270

The reference 114270 is the last Rolex Explorer to be housed in a 36mm case before the reintroduction of this size in 2021 with the reference 124270. This model represents the end of an era, as it saw very little change over almost five decades. While it maintains the classic Explorer style, it features some technical upgrades compared to its predecessor, reference 14270. Notably, the model introduced in 2001 came with an upgraded Rolex movement, the caliber 3130, and solid end-links, providing a heavier, more modern feel on the wrist. However, it retains a similar aesthetic to previously established styles.

The reference 114270 was phased out in 2010, nine years after its introduction, with the arrival of the 39mm reference 214270. Although it was short-lived in the brand's catalog, it stands as a significant advancement in the collection's history from the 2000s, with all the makings of a future classic.

Due to their age, some pre-owned watches should not be subjected to the same conditions they were rated to when they where new.
