Model Overview

ABOUT THE WATCH

The dial features an hour hand along with two superimposed minute hands
– of which the premiere in rhodium-plated gold indicates real-time coupled with
the hour hand. It conceals the other hand in 18ct rose gold, which will calculate minutes in five or one-minute increments on demand. In both cases, pressing
on either pusher will make the rose gold hand jump according to the desired increment: five minutes by the pusher located at 8 o'clock and one minute by the one positioned at 10 o'clock. The period of time to be measured will have elapsed when the rhodium-plated hand has reached the position of the 18ct rose gold hand. It is returned to its position by means of the crown-integrated pusher in a similar way to the split-seconds function.

The function enables on-demand fine calibration of the minutes over a specific period of time for any occasion or event requiring measurement of the minutes count.

The contrast is striking. This is very much a complication yet in the Parmigiani Fleurier spirit. The TONDA PF Minute Rattrapante is graced with pure and essential proportions featuring sophisticated aesthetic codes and finishes.

The Tonda PF line marries design elements from Parmigiani's history. Some of these elements include the teardrop-shaped lugs of the Kalpa, and the distinctive coined edge bezel, which can be seen in the earliest examples of the Toric Memory time, Michael Parmigiani's first wrist-watch from 1996.

THE BRAND

The Parmigiani Fleurier brand - a watch-making adventure that transcends the mundane - was created in Fleurier in 1996 and was guided by the passion of a man who remained faithful to the very essence of the watchmaker. Michel Parmigiani, master horologist, renowned restorer, and talented creator of mechanical time-keepers, dedicates his knowledge, which has been enriched by past and present teachings, to the benefit of the brand.

The Sandoz Family Foundation, who had tasked a young Michel Parmigiani to lead the restoration of their horological artifact collection, became interested in bringing Parmigiani's masterful work to the consumer market. In 1996, with the backing of the Sandoz Foundation, Parmigiani Fleurier was able to fit out its manufacturing workshops with the means to produce exceptionally high-quality goods. In less than 10 years, it achieved near complete vertical integration, and the industrial equipment deployed constitutes one of the rarest and most complete manufacturing workshops in Switzerland. The very essence of haute horology, such as attention to detail or the beauty of the embellishment of a simple or highly complicated movement, is the subject of great attention at Parmigiani Fleurier and is the reason for its international recognition.

Inspired By Nature

The golden ratio and the beauty of nature have inspired each of the House’s pieces. This approach originally comes from Michel Parmigiani – master watchmaker, restorer, and founder of the brand – who has always been inspired by the world around us.

Historical Craftsmanship

More than fifty trades are required to make a Parmigiani Fleurier watch, including enamellers, guillocheurs, and master watchmakers. Day after day, these craftsmen breathe life into the historical expertise of a watch manufacture located at the heart of the Swiss Jura Mountains.

Masters Of All

Producers of dials, cases, and components… These craftsmen, who are the foremost partners of the House, have been sought out over decades to create the in-house manufacture. Selected for their meticulous workmanship and quality technical elements, they produce the smallest components and ensure their final assembly.
